Start, Stop, or Restart a VPS
You can start, shut down, restart, or force stop your VPS from the panel or the client area. This guide explains what each power action does and where to find it.
Choose a Power Action
- Start powers on a stopped VPS.
- Shut down asks the operating system to shut down cleanly. Use it for a normal shutdown.
- Restart reboots the VPS.
- Force stop cuts power to the VPS immediately. Use it only when the VPS does not respond.
Manage from the Panel
- Log in to the panel. For details, see Access the Panel.
- Click your server card in the Servers list.
- Click the power button you need at the top right of the Overview tab: Start, Restart, Force stop, or Shut down. Start is only active when the VPS is stopped.
- Wait for the action to finish.
- Check the power state in the STATE field of the stat row on the Overview tab, for example Running.
Manage from the Client Area
- Sign in to the client area, open the Services tab, and select your VPS.
- Find the power buttons and the Server status row on the Overview tab of the service page.
- Click Restart, Shut down, or Force stop. When the VPS is stopped, Start is available instead.
- Wait for the result message, such as “Shut down sent. Server status: Stopped.”
- Click Refresh to update the Server status row.
- Click Log in to panel on the service page if you want to manage the VPS from the panel instead.
Troubleshooting
- Allow time for the operating system and applications to load after you start or restart the VPS, then reconnect.
- If a power action returns an error or the VPS stays in the same state, check STATE on the panel Overview tab before you try again.
- If the VPS does not come back online, open the console to see what the server is doing. For details, see Access the Console.
- Contact support if the problem continues. Include the VPS name or IP address, the action you tried, and any error message shown. For details, see Submit a Support Ticket.
